        With the # in the diamond, you have it in SCSI disk mode, and there
is nothing on the hard drive being accessible.  The ROM is running the
powerbook at that point.
        Try FWB's CD-ROM Toolkit to run it in the ordinary SCSI mode, and
make sure no id # conflict.
