Folks,
Has anybody installed and used VPC on a PB1400? I have a 1400 w/ G3-250 and 64MB RAM. Is it possible to use VPC 4.0 w/ Win98 on it? How would you set it up? Any suggestion are appreciated. TIA. -- Hey-- I got VPC 2.1.3 on my PB1400 (using Mac OS 9.1)with Windows95 and it seems just as fast as the Mac side--takes a while to load up, then speeds along. I have a G3 Sonnet 400 Mhz with 175 MB of RAM (64 on Motherboard & 111 recognized Compact Flash card on a PC card.) A programer friend reccomended I try Win95 & persuaded me not to use Win98 because he hated it. We got the VPC DOS setup and then ran the Microshit Win95 installer ontop of it. Everything seemed pokey until I studied the Connectrix documentation and www.MacWindows.com tips (printed out pages of the website) and tweaked things. I have a seperate Extension Manager set to use Virtual PC. I had an odd experience installing it again after adding the G3 processor--It didn't run!? I copied a good copy from my backup hard drive and that ran just like before. Good Luck! Tony -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
