If you want to stay under $500 then the following would work. 1. PB 1400 - G3 upgradeable as well. A bit lightweight and flimsy in some physical areas but a great machine and quite capable.
2. PB 3400 - No G3 but it is a powerhouse, many expansion options availabe, durable and great for graphics and CADD work, weighs a lot though.
