I've upgraded two different (117-Mhz) 1400cs with Apple's own 133-Mhz processors, and both times I had funky problems appear. I used the brute force method of removing the main battery, unplugging the computer and resetting the PRAM a half dozen times. Then using TOOL TECH LITE to zap the PRAM again. My best guess is info about the CPU and/or cache is stored in the PRAM. If the PRAM isn't flushed, the computer will fail to notice a hardware reconfiguration has occurred and locks up. - Ron. -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
