Depending on the type of writing you're doing, you might want to take 
a look at Three By Five, an index card filing system. The manual 
shows it being used as a bulletin board with file cards on it but I'm 
finding that it's handling easily much more than that. There's an 
Export to Final Draft as well as Text or RTF if those are final 
format options for you. I've used it from Sys 7.1 through 9.2 without 
any problems. It's an old app from 1996 I don't know if it's been 
updated. I'm not finding a website to point you to but maybe a search 
would.
