When I got a SCSI compactflash reader, it came with special software and an extension to deal with the cards. I don't recollect exactly, but I think it was needed because of some partitioning-- DOS and Macs using different drive partitioning schemes. Does File Exchange handle FAT (file allocation table) juggling? I just did a quick google search-- there's a utility to create and mount FAT partitioned disks on the Mac called "DOS Mounter" but it costs $60.
