OK, I've got another approach just in case the numbers on the boards don't tell the story if a logic board is 'replaced' rather then 'repaired'.
For those who have sent units in under the REA for the bad power connector problem, (assuming this is not too much trouble to ask), but does your receipt say "Replaced Logic Board" as the REA states, or does your receipt say "Repaired"? Apparently, according to the original owner, his receipt says "Repaired". I would have expected Apple to write "Replaced" if they did so, because that is something they would tout as part of the 'customer service experience'. I still don't think they 'replaced' this board as the REA would have required. And if they didn't, then there could have been additional damage. It is clear the little upright card for the pcmcia switches doesn't work properly because it wobbles too much. Bottom switch works but the top one doesn't reach the switch enough cause of the looseness. Of course I also realize we're talking about a seven year old machine here, but there is that 'principal' thing. Robert, thanks for the link on the fix too, guess that's the fallback position. But if there is a distinction between "Repair" and "Replacement", then I intend to do my darndest find it. Thanx Again, Dave 5300cs -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
