That is way overboard. If it's just the laptop then 50W will do. There is a simple reason for this. The (US) National Electrical Code defines low power wiring as anything carrying less than 50W (with a voltage limitation too I think). Anything over this gets a lot more involved with regard to certification. None of the Apple (or other make) laptop power supply I've seen are rated for more than 50W.
