That's funny, because that's exactly what I was thinking as well. Not too long ago you could download these updates off of their website. Banning this guy seems a little drastic since it sounded to me like he was trying to help out rather than be a pirate. There are far easier ways of downloading software from the web than on these lists.
As for people buying machines with software on them, I would give the lions share of the blame to the buyer in most cases. It is up to them to delete software without licenses, but I'm sure many do not, simply declaring the software came with the machine.
