This whole copyrighting/starving artists thing is really getting up my nose.
While I completely agree that ripping off software is just plain wrong, I'm
afraid greed is unfortunately the main motivating factor here. I don't think
I've ever heard of anyone taking a couple of hours to photocopy a paperback
to save the $10 cost of buying it new, even if they steal the time and paper
from their employer. It's just not worth the trouble. If the price of music
CDs and software etc is reasonably low, people will just BUY it. But if large
corporations and other businesses encourage high pricing for "Professional"
software, then we can expect to pay hundreds of dollars for Quark or PS etc.

Having had to completely replace as well as upgrade my OS, hardware, and software
so many times over a mere 15 years I've lost count, I have an increasingly difficult
time dredging up sympathy for the companies to whom I've paid thousands of my after-
tax dollars just to "keep up" in my business. I cranked out just as much material on
vellum using a pencil prior to 1984.

Um, oh yeah; I do a lot of this on a Powerbook (just to keep it in context haha)!
