I just looked at the specs of the DLink and I don't see Mac drivers 
mentioned anywhere. It simply won't work without a Mac driver. I'm 
assuming you haven't somehow found a compatible Mac driver.

Try MacSense's 10/100 PCMCIA card  - built for Mac (and any PB 
1400/190/5300 as well).
