Hmm, with 64 mb of ram you can run just about anything up to 9.1. That said, 8.6 is probably an optimal choice between snifty features and OS baggage, imo. 8.1 will be lighter, but there's an increasing number of apps that won't run under anything less than 8.5. You can find OS 8.5/6 here and there. Power On <http://www.poweron.com> is selling it for $79, which seems a little high to me. As for installing it you have two choices: a bootable external CD or use another Mac with a SCSI port and a disk-mode SCSI cable on the 5300c. This is a cable that lets you plug your powerbook into another mac and have it act like an external drive. This is how I've installed Os'es on my powerbooks.
