Thanks for the help provided.

I've just about sussed out what 'ethernet' is, what 'wireless' is, and what
'airport' is - steep learning curve!

It seems unlikely that I will be in the proximity of any of these wonderful
technologies so unable to take adavantage of them - I'm just a 'granny' with
a 165 that I like very much but never succeeded in getting it 'online'
although I did finally get my cd and syquest drive going! Since I'm not
going to be using my 165 much now - but will be keeping it - how do I store
my batteries - fully charged/run down - in the pb or in their cases?

I am always quite amazed at the wealth of expertise on this list and very
thankful for the unstinting help which is given so generously.

The "New" 5300c has 40 mb built in memory and a 800 mb hard disk and is
running 8.5 but as I have no cd my first priority is to find this on Ebay.
Next will be the modem card. I'm intrigued with the thought of connecting
it to a mobile phone but haven't really understood what is involved - can
someone explain this simply please?
