So what about the 1400, you mean that's the 7.2 that's working ? My understanding is that even with WEP encryption turned off, your WAP won't allow them access, if you are enabling access on a case-by-case basis, only allowing cards with a specified MAC ID. Which is easy to do. That (on my WAP anyway) appears to be separate from WEP encryption (which as others say has been broken anyway). But yes Tom, you have given up one level of security by turning WEP off; how many people are sniffing wireless connections really I'm not sure anyone knows (sniffing connections at that level is separate from just someone just using open access points).
