craig, you're right.

However, I know  (I've owned in excess of 800 of the 1xx series Powerbooks) 
that the 165 can NOT accept any RAM from any other Powerbook, other than a 
1xx series.. it will only max at 14mb.. it has 4mb soldered on the main 
board, and can accept up to an additional 10mb card.  Anybody selling you 
anything "more" is probably selling New York real estate on the side (ie the 
Brooklyn bridge)...

The 190's RAM is entirely different design, and will work only in 2 
Powerbooks (the 190c/cs, the 5300c/cs/ce).

If you have questions about RAM, you mmight look at our site--we've got RAM 
broken down by the machines that it will fit.. Not exceedingly explanatory, 
but it does show which PB's are similar.  We're working on a "Powerbooks for 
Dummies" page that explains the main configuration differences between 
Powerbooks.. Hopefully will launch that this month...
