Two points worth noting. Firstly, for replacement, simply enter the serial number on the adapter to determine if that unit is a candidate for replacement. Secondly, don't do the the firstly! Those M4402 adapters are the best Apple ever made for that style plug. The small form-factor (compared to the Yoyo-style replacement) is worth a premium as you'll see if you check the going rate on eBay for each. I've got both types and I cannot say I care for the Yoyo's shape or esp. the thickness. I continue to use my 4402 and have never felt it getting noticably hot even under extended use. The recall on the M4402 is for a _potential_ overheating condition, which apparently affected very few units, but was widespread enough for Apple to decide to recall 'em all rather than face _potential_ liability. Sigh, I hate to think what happened to all those innocent M4402s returned to Apple. hth, Dan K -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
