Dear Jen: The button on my 5300 broke completely last week; with help from Drew I fixed it by replacing the palm rest, which might be the ultimate solution for you too. But as a stopgap, if the worst problem it's causing you now is getting Word started up, why don't you put an alias to the program in your startup items folder? Command-tab will then take you from one open application to another. Best, Victoria -- "Loyalty to the country always, loyalty to the government when it deserves it."
