On a related note, I have a small IDE HDD from a desktop that refuses any formatting I can throw at it. (and last night, an NEC SCSI 2 Gig also gave me trouble - "cannot initialize an unsupported drive" (but FWB does do the job, but not to Apple's liking - OS 9 or 8 variants of Drive Set-Up).
