I have finally been able to format the drive: I connected a
SCSI-drive to the powerbook and pressed command-option-shift-delete
right through the whole boot process (I think this is important,
because when I released the keys too soon, norton disklock would pop
up again). The powerbook drive did not mount, but I was able to
format it with the apple tool drive setup. Now, the drive is fine.

Many thanks for your suggestions.

Nils
