Well, I did say that it was text-based and intimidating to first time users. I don't know about "awful." Anyone who has ever seen DOS (yes, I know we are Mac users, but we aren't ignorant) or used a text-based ATM should be able to use the program. But there aren't too many safeguards. Yes, you can completely trash your disk without it warning you. But, heck, you can completely trash your hard disk with Drive Setup too. But that's what makes it so darn powerful and utilitarian. No, pdisk is not a "good" Mac OS program. It doesn't have a nice candy shell to hide the text from view... But it does things that other disk formatters can't do, yes, including deleting driver partitions...
