The OS has to be off a general install CD, a PowerBook install CD or a
platform specific CD for the 3400. OS 8.6 is a good choice, but 32 meg is the
lower limit for memory, with 8.6 my startup is 20 meg for the system. My 3400
has the dual purpose modem/ether net card and requires an adapter/splitter,
accessories and memory are available at reasonable prices on the LEM list.
