I see Orinco/Lucent WaveLan/etc. silver cards for sale in the USD 40- 50 range and the old WaveLAN drivers that support down to a 190 (I think) and System 7.5.2 are available on versiontracker. I'm not absolutely sure the WaveLAN drivers will work with the Orinco cards, though. The drivers from Proxim- or whoever they are now- seem to require OS9- ish. We got our WaveLan silver from a closeout deal on the 'net for under 40 bucks shipped, and it works perfectly on a 5300cs running 7.5.3. Configuring the old- school MacTCP was a little bit of a bitch, but once it was running it tapped right into our DSL AirPort network and we easily surf wirelessly with it and transfer files among any of our 5 wireless- enabled Macs all running anywhere from Jaguar 10.2.3 to 7.5.3. Looks like we maybe got the last el- cheapo one from here (very nice company, BTW) <http://www.welovemacs.com/pc24ehfc.html> because there's no price listed anymore, but like I said- they're out there. Try a Sherlock and you'll find some deals. Cathy -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
