My 3400c's battery is starting to behave strangely. I last used it a yesterday when I ran the battery down to around half full. Today, it started making a strange sound from the battery - it starts with a faint sucking sound which lasts before a few seconds, and then starts ticking rapidly - sort of a faint tica-tica-tica-tica etc. The moment I pressed the battery's release catch to take it out the sound stopped. During all this, the PowerBook was switched off. Shortly afterwards, the sound started again, only to cut out when I again attempted to remove the battery. Turning the 'Book on via the AC adaptor (oddly it booted the moment the adaptor was inserted, with out me pressing anything) shows that the battery is now flat, though it does still recharge.
This is the second time I can recall the 'Book making these sounds. Does anyone know what's happening? I plan on selling it soonish, and so would like it to be in optimum health.
