I have  EUD5.1 and it remembers all settings for all personalities -- 
when i had some problem with my internetproviders mailserver  I had 
to delete the settings prefs and fill in all the passwords and 
details, addresses again, with remember my password option active it 
remembered all of them after the first time i opened each and every 
address and since then worked flawless.
