Hello Martin: There are actually several people (on this list) who know quite a lot about PB batteries the NiCad, NiMH, and Lithium ion types and PBs, and qualify for your flattering title of PB Guru. There are ways of resurrecting old batteries that I have had success with that I promise to post tomorrow, but it's too late tonight to go into that much detail. I also need time to find the one or two URLs that I know that detail (with pictures) how to cut a laptop battery apart.
