Thanks all!

I really appreciate the effort to find this information for me. I am
perfectly willing to go out into my pottery studio (blast proof) and try and
operate on these old batteries, assuming I have some chance of success.
That seems to be what you all are suggesting. I can take apart any 500
series PB and put it back together from memory now, but batteries are
something quite new to me. I have no experience there.

My 5 year old son told me he wanted his own computer to play games on, but I
think it has more to do with the fact that he cannot communicate with me and
wants something that I made for him. You see, I am deaf, and a bigoted
judge overruled my attempt to set-up a videoconferencing system so that I
could sign directly to my sons over the internet (my sons are 400 miles away
now). I plan to sell off the worthless PC laptop I bought for this system
and just use my old Mac computer and laptop to send photos and sign language
games to my sons (made with HyperCard).

I really appreciate any help with these old batteries you can find for me,
and I plan to check out that website listed above.
