"Where is a good source for software that will run on this (games, apps etc. I stupidly chucked all the software I had from the old Performa a couple of years ago), especially a mail app & a browser. " Somewhere around we have a huge box of software specifically for OS 7.5 including early IE 3 and early Netscape plus lots of other goodies like Disk Auto doubler and RAM doubler and Norton Utilities plus a batch of educational CDs. Trouble is that all ,or mainly all, are on floppies and pretty heavy to post - where are you? If I can master how to get them onto a CD it will be a lot easier and we have a SCSI CD burner arriving soon. Also have an OS 7.6.1 (on CD) You can get a cable -I think its called an HD30 (SCSI) which allows you to attach your PB to an external CD drive (SCSI) and you can then load stuff from CD's onto it. You can also get a clever little SCSI connector that allows you to plug it straight into your other Macs and it appears on the desktop's screen as an additional HD - here the choices multiply. If any of the above isnt totally applicable to your model we are not comp "experts"- just avid Mac users trying to lend a hand.
