Really just some basic word processing when away from home and being able to
do a little surfing the net when the other computer is tied up. Money is the
concern because past a certain point it just seem like it would be better to
get a newer system


Surfing is doable but slow. Also the screen size is limiting. I used a 5300 for a year or more. I just got in the habit of doing something else while surfing. After using G3s the 5300 gets even slower.
