I just got my 3400 back from the repair shop.  Not
that we really did anything with the pc slots, but now
my 3cxm756 pc card modem works in it-- and really
well, too. I don't know why it works now, and didn't
before.  Apparently I don't need another driver or a
firmware upgrade or anything. Runs good. Maybe you
could look for this model.
