slow booting kanga

My new Kanga from ebay takes a long time to boot, like up to a half 
hour. It hangs after loading one extension icon on the screen, but 
comes back after 5 to 10 minutes.  Then it goes normal until it 
displays the desktop--that can take another 10 minutes. I've 
reinstalled system 9 and thrown out any suspect extensions. If I boot 
with extensions off, it boots normally. Anybody been through this?
