1) You can boot from your ZIP if you make a special start-up disk using 
the Iomega tools. Just throwing a sys folder and Norton onto a ZIP disk 
doesn't make it a startup disk.

2) The Norton CD will refuse to touch an internal drive that is still 
being used for virtual memory. Be sure and turn this off before 
attempting to boot from the Norton CD to make repairs or optimize.
