Brian,

Reloading a system, or upgrading to a new system, requires the updating of the hard
disk driver first. It is automatically done by an easy install usually, but not
always. I was a helpdesk representative and running "hdsc setup" before installing a
system usually worked to get a new system to boot up. People were loading in systems
without updating their disk driver and the system may not have even loaded. Also, you
may need to run "hdsc setup" before you go back to an earlier system. It needs to be
run from the installation disk of the system that you want to install. This may help
with your woes.
