Has anyone used a wireless setup with a dialup connection on a 1400? Is it even worth thinking about? I've got a dialup connection with a nominal speed of 56k, but it always connects at 31.3k or less.

There are several coffee shops in town that have wireless access setups, so
I suppose that I could surf online while sipping latte and eating scones if
I decide to play around with wireless.

I'm confused... Do you want wireless, dialup, wireless-while-dialed-up, wireless-to-dialup, or wireless dialup? ;-)

If the first, check the archives.

Dialup would be something to check for in the archives as well.

I've shared a dail-up connection with my wireless LAN, and that works ok if a little slow.

There are also some base stations (Apple AirPort Base Station and an ORiNOCO RG1000(?) included) that have built-in modems and will connect to the 'net that way....

Wireless dialup, OTOH, implies the use of a cell phone. I know many people that use it, but they have similarly crappy speeds....

Is it just me that's confused?

Peace,
Drew
