Interesting thinking, Eric. The laptop(s) were stored in a desk drawer in an office heated/cooled by an airpump. They've always been in Seattle but not really subjected to dampness. The corrosion was definitely just that and not mildew. Since mildew is best destroyed with bleach I doubt (but could be wrong) that there's an effective product to combat mildew in electronics, with the exception of Micatin Antifungal Jock Itch Cream. I always apply a small dab next to the external power connector because as we all know - Jock Itch Cream is for external use only. :-) Chuck
