 Sounds like adapter, ac connection or power mgr failure.  Test with known
 good ac unit.

If it's a stock Apple power adapter, it could have died. The darned things
crap out from heat. That happened to two of mine. The next Power
Adapter/charger I bought was actually a cheaper third party unit and has
been fine for 2 years.


Problem resolved. Adapter fine. Adapter port fine. Looks like the problem was a faulty power cord. Replaced it and the thing is up and running. Never before had a problem with a simple electric cord. Many thanks for the quick responses.
