adding my .02 you might not want to bother w/ linux, not that it's a bad idea. Just since the pcmcia slots and sound have no support, you won't be able to do much. I don't think the optional internal ethernet is supported either.
:( I also wanted to use mklinux on my 1400, but was saddened when i found out I couldn't be wireless with it running linux. But it runs 9.1 on a 133 48mb, 6.4gb just fine :) I'm waiting for the 166MHz motherboard and processor to arrive. Then will break out the soldering pencil and replace the crystal w/ something faster.
