Well, that was a bit of an adventure, but one which has now ended in failure. I'm left with no backlight whatsoever and can't see anything in the display. The Powerbook seems to be unharmed otherwise; I can hear it start up as normal. But at this point I'm reluctant to waste more money on what has been a complete flop.
Does anyone have suggestions for what I might do now? If there's anywhere I could acquire a functioning display really really cheaply I would be willing to give it a shot. If on the other hand anyone wants the parts (incl. batteries and adapter) they aren't much use to me right now. Barring any of the above, I guess I just need a safe way to dispose of everything. Thanks for any ideas!
