If the machine crashes when the Sonnet extension loads, it might be the processor card. I had two of them fail (a 333 and then the 466 they replaced it with). All the extension does is activate the L2 cache, which seemed to be the problem with mine. I had a 117mhz version.

It loads fine. I am almost always able to get past the loading screens, but when the system has been running for awhile is when the freeze happens. Sometimes it is right after the Finder loads, sometimes I am able to do a few things then it will freeze. No warnings, just freezes.
I guess I should have specified this since most people are talking about the extension freezing at load. Mine will always load, but will freeze in the middle of surfing the web, writing a paper, etc; but it is inevitable that it will freeze within a few minutes.
I guess that I should also mention that when I first got the processor upgrade it acted erratic like this immediately, but one day stopped (I think after the 9.1 upgrade was released), and I was able to use it in college without the system freezing. Every now and then it would freeze, but it was rare at that point. Only since I brought the beast out to play with have I not been able to do anything without it freezing. Heck, for awhile there I was using it with WebStar as a small web/email server with the extension loaded. There would be weeks that it would run without a problem and not having been restarted. That is when I had to replace the backlight in the LCD, since the other finally gave out with always being on.
