This worked great on my 3400c. I had to call tech support because I wasn't getting a great signal. They told me to try different channels and that fixed the problem.

What do people think of the SkyLine software?
I was thinking about adding a comparison of the software and cards to my FAQ. Maybe I'll pick up a SkyLine card at some point and do an Apples-to-Apples comparison. ;-)
Peace, Drew
That would be great if you could do a report and post to your FAQ & here. I
would also be intrested if anyone has had the SlyLine card working under
OSX (slightly off topic), or a compairson to the MacWireless software. I
have been told that MacWireless was formed by former employees of Faralon,
the origional developer of the SkyLine card.
I have used both the Orinoco and the SkyLine v3.1 software & the SkyLine is
much easer to configure that the Orinoco. I have not used the Airport
software so no compairson available.
I helped a friend configure a Orinoco Gold card ($89.00 @ CDW, She did not
ask me before she purchased) and it is NOT rock solid reliable. With a
clean install of OS 9.1 on a Wallstreet, she must have the card inserted
for startup. She still can not get it to see her Belkin wirellss router at
home, but I think that is a configuration problem. When ejecting and
reinserting the card, computer sees card but refused to connect to my card.
Restart and all is well. Connected her laptop to my PB1400 with no problem
when I got it working.
I use v3.1 of the skyline software and it works great. I run it on a
compact flash card, with OS 9.1 on a PB 1400 with Sonnet g3. Its interface
window is much less confusing that the Orinoco. I have set up the same card
on OS 8.1 and OS8.6 with no problem, other that making sure that software
for wired ethernet had not been installed. This problem is specific to
those PowerBooks which use Card and Socket Services v2. (I beleave the 190,
1400 & 5300 only)
Proxim has a beta version of the SkyLine software specific to OS 9.1
posted, but its not likely its still being developed. When I tried it this
weekend, I froze my PB1400 when the computer started up with the card
removed. Froze when ejected, and just messed with my OS so much I nuked and
paved the CF card and started from scratch.
