As can be seen on my own personal FireWire for 3400c website...

So for the fourth time, lets STOP suggesting that this is a Cardbus card, because it clearly isn't. We're only serving to confuse him if we keep insisting it is a Cardbus card.
It IS quite difficult to shove one into a slot, without damaging anything. And if you do (and thus damage something) it wouldn't show up on the desktop anyway (as his card is doing) because the 1400 (unlike the 3400c) does NOT have CardBus electronics... If anything his computer would go berzerk somehow. Might crash. Might emit a foul burning smell if something was crossed.
So yeah, since he sees the card, it inserts smoothly, and there are no crashing or burning problems, it clearly is not a CardBus card. The end.
Let us not speak of this Cardbus anymore. Starting..... NOW!

Also, some people have reported that they were able to fit a CardBus card into a non-CardBus cage so you have to take care with that method too. Specifically people have reported putting USB cards into a 3400 which has CardBus electronics but didn't have a CardBus cardcage. The keys aren't very big so it wouldn't be hard to shove one into the wrong slot. Especially as pushing the card into the right kind of slot can be difficult.
