Sorry for the delay in replying to the many suggestions on the wireless 1400. I read the list via digest and had the day off work with lots of things vying for my time :)
I got the card off ebay, it has a check mark on the back of it for 5V and 16. It didn't come with any info. Comparing the connector with other PC cards I have that work in the PB1400 shows it to have the same keys. I was aware of the cardbus issue otherwise I could have had a large choice locally. The card fits in easily and was not forced. I downloaded the WaveLAN drivers, removed the Orinoco stuff, restarted and installed the WaveLAN. No joy, WaveLAN reports that a WaveLAN card must be inserted. Inserting the card gives the same message as before, the correct software is not installed. I tried disabling all GV extensions and control panels, restarting and reinstalling the Orinoco and then the same procedure with the WaveLAN drivers. Same problem each time. I can get access to a PB190 so I will try that next. I think it's running 7.5.5 w/24MB, have to see if either of the drivers will install on that. Thanks for all the suggestions, I will post my results on the 190. -- John Impellizzeri mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
