So you're the one who outbid me on eBay for that 3400
logic board!:)
Seriously, the problems I have (not able to boot from
the internal HDD, known good internal HDD not
recognized, internal HDD spinning down often, fan
turning on and off) disappear like magic if I attach a
powered external SCSI device.
Is there any physical damage to the logic board or the
chip you mention? My problems started after a bad fall
on a concrete floor.
