here's the super-quick version;
remove keyboard screws, keyboard. Pull up side plastics slightly. Grab hold of top edge of front right palmrest just where the -> key sits. Pull up, towards you and fowards to the left!. ***You're rotating the thing up and clockwise in 3 D about the front left corner. *** Untangle the left front end of the side plastics as you do this.
rest is obvious once you've got the palmrest plastic off.
reassembly is, as they say, the reverse proceedure.

PS it does feel like its going to snap. But it never has for me. And I've done at about 20 times.
