I won an auction, sent someone money via paypal, and then the seller dissappeared, taking my money with them. I contacted paypal, opened a claim, and they said that they too were unable to contact the person, but since they had closed their ebay and paypal account, paypal could do nothing for me. So I lost over $80. This was about eight months ago.
