Dave, I don't see this OT question listed as posted. I use WalMart POs because they are much cheaper. It sounds like the guy/gal is ligit. If you get a Postal Money Order, you could cream them if they didn't send you what they advertised, using Mail Fraud. I have nEVer had trouble using POs. Just make sure you save the reseat and note the code.
