Hi there!
I am the proud owner of several vintage Powerbooks, but most recently I got a G3 Wallstreet and tried to open it up to upgrade the RAM. But, it seems that the bolt that secures the heat shield is stripped so the shield is stuck in place. And, I need to replace the PRAM also. Is there another way to get to the RAM and the PRAM? Would my local Mac store offer a bolt removal/replacement? I REALLY need to make these improvements, but I'm truly at a loss. Please help me.
Another possibility IF the head is exposed is to use a Dremel-type tool with a thin, very thing, cutting disk. Cut one shallow slot across the head. Then use a small-headed screwdriver to remove the screw.
