Let's see if this chicken can be plucked a different way.
I had posed the question of a processor upgrade to speed performance of web
surfing on my new cable modem. I'm using a PowerTower 180e with 128 MB RAM,
OS 9.1. I'm using the stock 604e (non-G3) processor
I'm experiencing file download speeds of 50K to 70K/second, so the 3Com
HomeConnect cable modem seems to be delivering the goods. But I still
experience some hesitation with OE 5 in drawing pages. I wonder whether the
machine just can't keep up with the data.
Some have suggested a new graphics/video card or VRAM upgrade. Any thoughts?
And any suggestions on an affordable but effective PCI non-G3 video card?
TIA,
Chuck
