This'll probably open up another can of worms, but why not just use Drive
Setup? It seems to me that all the versions since the one that came with 8.6
(1.9.3?) have handled third party drives.
I've got an old SCSI 2GB Seagate kicking around. It came straight out of a
PC - Drive Setup handled it very nicely.
