The big advantage of Alsoft's PlusMaker is that it doesn't require
any reformatting of the hard disk to convert to HFS+. HD ToolKit and
Drive Setup both initialize the drives during conversion, thus wiping
out any data currently on the drive.

I have used PlusMaker many times in the past, and it worked without
flaw. The only thing I needed to do after conversion was a disk
defragmentation (Norton SpeedDisk) to optimize free space usage and
speed up read/write times. It may not make much difference to most,
but for folks working with multimedia, it's a huge help to have
contiguous free drive space.

Cheers!
