Okay folks, I've decided to wait to install the
new HD AFTER I take care of getting my PowerBase
networked with my iceBook and the AirPort base
station.
When the iBook arrived a couple of months ago, I
immediately set up AirPort, and was on the i'net
in no time at all. Now, the other day, I decided
to install my Asante ethernet PCI card in the PB
(PB 240 upped w/P'Logic G3 running at 304 mhz).
Nothing wants to work right. I finally shut all
the new stuff down and decided to contact the
list. Yes...I installed the driver from the
Asante disk...nothing! I have dl'd and printed
"Setting Up An AirPort Network" (or whatever it's
called) from Apple. Read it, reread it, and
re-reread it. Thought it was quite straight
forward...BUT...aha! Is it really necessary for
me to buy an ethernet HUB? I know the manual for
AirPort shows one, but I'm only connecting ONE
computer through the network...thought I'd just
share the printer (more problems...another time)
off the PB rather than try to hook it up
separately as a network printer.
Anyway...all suggestions will be taken in good
spirits...and perhaps with good spirits (I could
use some Glen Fiddich about now!). Next stop, the
Syracuse Macintosh Users Group.
